Beach Boys play ‘Don’t Be a Fool’ for the first time ever in the NHL
Beaches Boys frontman Bob Dylan’s final songs are a fitting tribute to his late mother, according to a new biography.
A collection of lyrics, published on Wednesday by the New York Times, details Dylan’s life and career and offers an intimate look at his relationship with his mother, Joan.
Joan Dylan died of ovarian cancer at the age of 59 on July 1, 2010, and her son was raised in a devout Catholic family.
The lyrics of his final songs, released in 2006, include the line, “I’m gonna be the most fucked up fucking son of a bitch you’ve ever seen.”
Dylan, who recorded the songs with his friend Bob Geldof, was in his final years of his career when he died in March, and his last concert was in October.
He recorded and released three albums of his own, but the last, A Hard Rain’s A-Gonna Fall, was released in December 2017.
Dylan’s mother died in August, a few months after Dylan’s death, but her son wrote her letters, and they were shared at his funeral.
Dyce was born in Buffalo, New York, in 1926.
He graduated from the University of Buffalo in 1939 and later went on to become an artist.
In 1943, he recorded his first hit with his group the Beach Boys, which peaked at number seven on the Billboard Hot 100.
The Beatles broke with their parent company in 1964, when they signed to EMI.
Dylan, who was the lead singer of the group, later went solo.
In 1972, Dylan’s band released The Complete Works of Bob Dylan, the definitive biography of the artist, a collection of stories, poems, songs and interviews.
He has said in interviews that the songs were written to honor his mother’s death.
